Hollywood Casino at The Meadows presented a pair of Delmonica Hanover Sire Stake divisions, as well as two Stallion Series divisions, all for 2-year-old trotting fillies.
Two Delmonica Hanover Sire Stake divisions produced two winners for the Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and Vernon Beachy combination. Shes A Home Run was a grand slam in her $54,945 division, setting both a stakes and track record with a 1:53.2 performance. The daughter of Captain Corey used a 27.1 third quarter to seal the deal for owners 518 Group LLC and Ryan Smith. A $25,000 Lexington yearling purchase, Shes A Home Run now has two wins from six starts and earnings of more than $50,000.
The second Wrenn Jr. and Beachy winner, The Captain’s Wife, held off a late challenge to win her $54,945 Delmonica Hanover Sire Stake division. A friendly opening half of 58.1 was the key for the Captain Corey filly. Ops Meares S attempted a late rally to chase down the frontrunner but came up a half-length short in the 1:56.1 mile. Owners 518 Group LLC and Ryan Smith purchased The Captain’s Wife in Lexington for $29,000. She now has three wins in six starts.

Belara Bay and Tyler Buter equaled the Stallion Series stakes record with a 1:55.2 victory. The pair used a second-over trip and the length of the stretch to pick up Belara Bay’s initial victory. The daughter of Greenshoe was bred and is owned by Tony Holmes and June Zent and is trained by Richard Norman.
T’wouldmakemesing made it three in a row in Stallion Series action with a wire-to-wire 1:56 victory. Mike Wilder moved the Captain Corey filly to the lead at the three-eighths pole, and from there she trotted to a career-best performance for trainer George Decharme. T’wouldmakemesing was a $50,000 Lexington purchase for owner FTM Racing Stable of Florida.
