Washingon, PA –Three days of PA Sire Stakes action kicked off Thursday afternoon with Hollywood Casino at The Meadows hosting 2-year-old trotting fillies with two $58,000 Delmonico Hanover Stakes and four Stallion Series events.
The fastest Delmonico Hanover division saw Ginger Tee Lex extend her win streak to six with a 1:54.4 effort. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. had the Sam Beegle trained filly on the lead at

every call for a comfortable 1 ¾ length victory off pocket sitter Maya Patel Hanover. The Bar Hopping filly is owned by Beegle, Ginger Tree Ventures LLC, Knoll View Stable 2 and Robert Reber Jr., all of PA.
The second Delmonico Hanover had Brady Brown and Little Road pull the 17-1 upset of favorite, and pacesetter, Islandgirl Hanover. Owned, bred and trained by Bedford, PA’s Roger Hammer, the Fordham Road filly was put in play by Brown at the 5/8 and used a stretch long rally to real in the leader for the 1:56 lifetime best victory. Little Road now has five wins from eight starts for her connections.
Tyler Miller picked up the first of his two Stallion Series victories with the Julie Miller trained Sister Wine. Miller moved the Bar Hopping filly to the lead before the quarter on the way to a frontend 1:56.4. Owned and bred by William Oak Racing LLC of TN, it was the first lifetime victory for Sister Wine.
Miller’s second Stallion Series win would come courtesy of a perfectly time backside move with Just Teasing. Moved from fourth at the 5/8, the Captain Corey filly would clear before the ¾ pole on their way to a lifetime best effort of 1:55.4. Just Teasing is owned by Andy Miller Stable Inc, Jean Goehlen and Windsong Stables. It was the second Stallion Series training win for Julie Miller.
Mike Wilder and Caviart Queen Emma inherited the lead in the final turn and then fought off Amber Ale Hanover for the Stallion Series trophy. Trained by Nancy Takter for owner and breeder Caviart Farm, the 1:57.2 effort was her first lifetime win in her fourth lifetime start.
A two-hole trip and passing lane were the keys to Berry Good News’ 1:57.3 Stallion Series triumph. Landing second behind the favorite from post 6, Dave Palone was able to wait for and utilize the passing lane to edge a late closing Avianna Hanover and Mike Wilder. Trained by Nifty Norman for owners Melvin Hartman and David McDuffie, the Greenshoe filly now has back-to-back Stallion Series victories.
For the day five drivers had doubles, Mike Wilder, Aaron Merriman, Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and Tyler Miller. The training side saw Julie Miller, Tim Twaddle and Johnny Yoder each sending out two winners.
Live racing resumes Friday August 29, first race post at 5:10pm. Friday’s card will feature two divisions of the Romola Hanover Stake and three Stallion Series divisions for 3-year-old pacing fillies.
