Guido Di stalked Tequila Talkin from the pocket, then blew by him in the Lightning Lane to earn the win his second straight in Thursday’s $21,200 Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
The 1-2 favorite, Guido Di grabbed he early lead for Brady Brown but released Tequila Talkin — after stringing him out a bit. That extra effort Tequila Talkin needed to cross over may have made a difference late, as he was no match for Guido Di, who downed him by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:52.2. Commander Frank raced well first over for third.
Steve Schoeffel trains Guido Di, a 5-year-old Wishing Stone-Focus On Me gelding who now boasts a career bankroll of $328,808, for Kathy Schoeffel, Marian Schilling and Lewis Fallon.
Dave Palone piloted four winners on the 13-race card.
