The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for its 2025-2026 MSOA Collegiate Scholarships. Thanks to the help of generous partners, this year will feature the most lucrative scholarships offerings in the lengthy history of the program, with over $40,000 available to the winners.
“We have been very fortunate to have generous and faithful partners over the past several years” said the MSOA President Lisa Dunn. “These groups have stepped up yet again to allow the MSOA to offer a significant amount of scholarship money to help our members’ families. We can’t thank our sponsors enough for their support.”
This year’s scholarships include:
- $20,000 Bob Key Memorial Scholarship
- $5,000 MSOA Scholarship
- $5,000 Burke Racing Scholarship
- $5,000 In Memory of Mickey Burke Scholarship – Donated by Sylvia Burke & Burke Family
- $3,700 Six Pack Scholarship – Donated by Hanover Shoe Farms
- $2,500 Amulet Rehabilitation and Conditioning Scholarship
- $ 2,000 In Memory of Wayne Shaffer III Scholarship – Donated by Shaffer Standardbreds
- $1,000 The Meadows Racetrack Scholarship
- Applicants must be the son or daughter of an owner, trainer, driver, or groom who has participated in the Meadows Racing in the last two (2) years.
- Said parent must be a member of the MSOA
- Applicants must be at least a senior in high school
- Preference will be given to Pennsylvania residents.
- Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit. Financial need may be considered. MSOA Scholarships are one-year awards. If for some reason, the scholarship is not used for the academic year applied for, the MSOA reserves the right to redistribute the award to other applicants.
- The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association reserves the right to alter, amend, and administer this program at their sole and complete discretion.
An independent committee at the Harness Horse Youth Foundation will review the applicants and determine the winners of each individual award.
Applications must be submitted to the MSOA Office or
postmarked no later than Friday, May 23, 2025.
