Holi Starzzz A seized the lead from post 6 and brooked no serious challenges en route to her first domestic victory in Thursday’s $21,200 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Holi Starzzz A’s first two US starts came at MGM Northfield, where she raced well against top competition but had to settle for minor awards. But Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. assured that the 7-year-old daughter of Four Starzzz Shark-Paintball would get a bigger piece of the pie. The duo blunted the first-over charge of Be My Rose N and held off the Lightning Lane thrust of the pocket-sitting Fighting Evil to down her by 3/4 lengths in 1:51.2. Be My Rose N saved show.

Ron Burke trains Holi Starzzz A, who lifted her career bankroll to $111,333 for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Larry Karr and Jamie Durnberger-Smith.

Aaron Merriman piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
