WASHINGTON, PA, June 1, 2024 — Liteningonthebeach held off the determined Boozin N Cruisin and triumphed in a career-best 1:49.4 in Saturday’s feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,500 Conditioned Pace.
Hammered down to 1-5, Liteningonthebeach threw down a swift 1:22.1 three-quarters but could not shake the pocket-sitting Boozin N Cruisin, who inched closer in the stretch. But the 4-year-old Downbytheseaside-Peanutbettor Shake gelding dug in for Aaron Merriman and downed Boozin N Cruisin by a neck, with Be Dazzled Lou A third.
Bill Bercury trains Liteingonthebeach, who boosted his lifetime bankroll to $273,840, for Renee Bercury.
Dave Palone piloted four winners and Mike Wilder three on the 13-race card.
